Sol Grill featured on KTLA’s Burrous’ BitesMay 15, 2013
Sol Grill, one of the best restaurants in Newport Beach, was May’s feature on Burrous’ Bites from television station KTLA. Located next to the world famous pier in Newport Beach, this dinner spot is a favorite among locals and tourists alike. Open for dinner, Tuesday through Saturday, Sol Grill features fresh seafood, hand cut steaks, and family pasta dishes passed down from generation to generation. Check out the video below to see owner, Misty K. Miller and local Jimmy Weeks, in action with Chris Burrous from KTLA.
Chris is always looking for your suggestions for his “Burrous’ Bites” segments where he meets a KTLA viewer, in this case local Jimmy Weeks, at his favorite hole in the wall restaurant, Sol Grill, and gives it a try. Enticed by the healthy alternatives served at Sol Grill like the “baseball cut” blackened Ahi, Mediterranean Swordfish, grilled Filet Mignon in their secret marinade, and Newport Linguini with shrimp, clams, and mussels in a spicy marinara, Sol Grill is truly a locals favorite with healthy alternatives. Chris enjoyed the Cajun Swordfish topped with their very own pineapple-papaya salsa and viewer Jimmy Weeks enjoyed the Sol Salmon with grilled vegetables. After enjoying the light Swordfish Burrous’ could not resist going after an unheard of second dish, and Newport Beach favorite, Grandma Jill’s Meatloaf. Made with 100% Filet Mignon and covered in a family marinara recipe, served with Mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach this traditional dish is amply served made from the finest ingredients available. If comfort food is what you’re looking for they have that here too!
With hundreds of Newport Beach restaurants to choose you have numerous dining options but there is only one Sol Grill. Food aside, Sol has an ambiance that is perfect for any setting. Local art adorns the walls, there is live music on set nights, and the Sangria tastes like it was made in Spain. The environment outside is alive with the foot traffic of passer’s by heading to and from the beach while the inviting interior calmly settles you in for an amazing evening filled with world class food and drink. Give Sol Grill a try the next time you head to Newport and we think you will agree with Chris Burrous, that this is one restaurant that will keep you coming back time and time again.
